"Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be."

DAYS 141 - 143

Day 141:

I watched (probably for the 100th time) one of my favorite episodes of Friends; the episode where Chandler and Joey create fireball. I don't know why I find that episode so funny, but I love the whole situation between them and Ross. I think season 5 is slowly finding it's way up the list of favorite seasons...

Day 142:

Before I headed to work, I made the most delicious brunch. It consisted of pancakes, a bowl of fruit, and an egg. It was the proper fuel I needed to work a 9 hour shift!

Day 143:

Today was kind of slow at work so I ended up sizing all of the clearance racks that were in my department. Not only does it help us, but it meant I got to shop everything that was on sale! Since I was shopping, I had to buy some things so I bought a shirt for my mom and one for me. Buying things for more that 70% off is awesome!

DAYS 132 - 140

First of all, WOW. It has been a very long time since I've posted anything! Nothing's really happened other than school starting and working a lot, but hopefully things will change soon and I'll update more! Since school started, work won't be taking up as much time as it does now; I'll probably be getting only 15 - 20 hours a week instead of 30. Now, onto updating my 365 Picture thing!

Day 132:

I finished Rose Madder. If you would like to read the review, you can find it here.

Day 133:

Charlotte Russe is amazing. I went in on my dinner break and found a ton of purses/bags that were on sale! I had to think about it for a day, but when I went back, I ended up purchasing a tote bag that I've been using for school, a purse that will be good for UGA games, and a clutch that I can use when going out. They were all for under $40, which I thought was a really good deal!

Day 134:

Even though it was Friday the 13th, we took our chances and had a RIP Summer party. A ton of people showed up which made it a lot of fun and quite a few people from high school came. Our parties are so much fun with all of the dancing, meeting new people, and just hanging out; I wouldn't mind having them more often!

Day 135:

We had a nice little fashion show at work! Actually it was more like, we dressed up in some of the outrageous clothing that just came in when we were super bored. There were hardly any customers that night so we decided to make our own fun. But what I don't understand is why a designer thinks this looks good. Seriously? None of them have sold, not surprisingly.

Day 136:

It was my day off so I traveled home and spent some time with my grandma, aunt, and then I went home to hang out with my family. Hardly anyone was there though so I had a nice time with Mom and Weyman. We rented Date Night and cooked out so how can you go wrong? Earlier on in the week, I bought this shirt from Macy's :) It was on sale (down to almost $10) so of course I had to add it to my wardrobe. I'm kind of a big fan of sales.

Day 137:

The first day of Fall semester has arrived! I only have two classes on MWF and they don't start until 12:20, so needless to say, it was pretty great. Since I got my core classes out of the way, I'm taking mostly major classes. Monday, I had Intro. to Advertising and Intro. to Environmental Health Science.

Day 138:

Tuesday/Thursday, I have three classes: Parental Guidance and Child Education, Abnormal Psychology, and Interpersonal Relationships. All three are so interesting! I love not dreading going to school anymore. Now the only thing that I have to dread is the buses and how dang packed they are.

Day 139:

Nanny had a doctor appointment yesterday so Mom was in town. We all went out to eat to the Varsity which was pretty tasty. On the way home, I stopped by the library and picked up my books that I had on hold: The Romantics and Mrs. Kimble. The Romantics is being made into a movie which I posted here, and Mrs. Kimble is written by the same author who wrote The Condition, so I'm pretty sure both will be awesome.

Day 140:

It was my night for family dinner night so I made some tasty tilapia. It was supposed to be Moroccan Salmon, but salmon was way to expensive and they only had farm raised, so I switched it to tilapia. The marinade is made of yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper which is a delicious combination. The cumin kind of reminds me of tacos, but it gave the fish a really good flavor.

Well, all I can say is, it's good to be back! I have some ideas for a couple of posts coming up, but for now, I'm ready for Jersay Shore to come on tonight! Hopefully, I'll keep up with posting more now that work has calmed down and school started!

ROSE MADDER

"Roused by a single drop of blood on the bedsheet, Rosie Daniels wakes from fourteen years of a nightmare marriage and suddenly take flight. She uses her husband's ATM card to buy a bus ticket, determined to lose herself in a place where Norman won't find her. She'll worry about the rest later.

Alone in a strange city, she begins to make a new life, and good things start to happen. Meeting Bill Steiner is one; and finding a junk-shop painting is another. It may be bad art but it's perfect for her new apartment - and somehow, it seems to want her as much as she wants it.

Still, it's hard for Rosie not to keep looking over her shoulder, and with good reason. Her husband is a cop, with the instincts of a predator. He's very good at finding people. The fact that he's losing his mind might even be an advantage.

Rose-maddened and on the rampage, Norman Daniels becomes a force of relentless terror and savageness, a man almost mythic in his monstosity. For Rosie to survive, for her to have a chance in her brave new world, she must enter her own myth - a world that lies beyond the surface of a work of art - and become a woman she never knew she could be: Rose Madder."
from front flap

When I first started reading Rose Madder by Stephen King, I thought it was going to be an awesome novel. And for the most part, it was. There were only two parts of the entire book that I feel could have been changed to make it 100% better. As with his other book, King is very detailed and slightly creepy in the way he tells the story, but it is a great plot. It makes you jumpy and I got very involved with the characters; I ended up hating Norman and I was proud of the things Rosie accomplished. While their story and back story was very interesting to read, the entire idea with the painting was terrible. It was hard to follow and it just didn't add anything to the story. I think he could have used something else in place of the painting and the story would have been amazing. I wouldn't say those parts ruined the book, because the rest was so good, but don't go into this book thinking that it's going to stay about just Rosie and Norman in reality, but cause reality was lost in a good chunk of the book.

Now, I don't know if I want to start back with Little Women, give The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo another chance, or wait for one of my books to be available at the library (Mrs. Kimble and The Romantics)...decisions, decisions. In the meantime, I'll be catching up on Grey's Anatomy. Only 3 episodes left!! And I can't believe the new season is going to start back next month!

DAYS 123-131

Day 123:

There were two call outs at work so I ended up working open to close. It wasn't too bad, but my knees and feet weren't too happy with me!

Day 124:

Alexi and Bella moved in! I've already used this picture, but I didn't get a new one with either one of them in it, so I'm using it again :)

Day 125:

I'm getting closer to finishing my craft project! I got pretty far, but I don't know what to do now. I'm thinking about either painting something on it or making something with magazine...

Day 126 - 130

We went to the beach yet again! This time we stayed closer to Pier Park in PCB and we had a ton of fun. I'll probably make a post about it later with more pictures, but this was the view.

Day 131

This song is so catchy! I'll admit that at the beginning, Katy Perry's voice is kind of annoying, but it gets better and it's pretty good.

P.S. I really want to see this movie.

This one kinda looks good too.

BEACH

So I know that I've been kind of slacking with the posting, but I have been working A LOT. And now, I'll be at the beach until Monday so don't expect any posts until at least Tuesday! :)

Spontaneous beach trips are the best. 'Nough said.

8.01.2010

DAYS 116 - 122

Day 116:

I traveled to Mom's work to meet her for lunch on Monday. As always, I had to drive on the most nerve wracking parts of 285: Spaghetti Junction. It's basically a lot of roads that overlap; you could be driving under one road while also driving over another. I'm not a huge fan of it.

Day 117:

I was off on Tuesday so I met up with one of my friends from high school for lunch. We went to the Mexican restaurant that we always go to so it we had a good time just filling each other in on what had been going on.

Day 118:

I was supposed to meet up with another friend for lunch before I had to go to work, but I ended up getting called in early so that didn't happen. :( I went into work thinking I was going to go to my department and work down there the whole time, but no. I had to work in the home store and fluff pillows and bath mats. FOR 5 HOURS. No fun.

Day 119:

The second season of Jersey Shore premiered! Need I say more?

Day 120:

I went on a purse hunt in Macy's. No joke. The other weekend, Mom found a purse that I got for her, but they she called me to tell me that it was coming unraveled. I couldn't find a match for the life of me until I asked for some help. Anyways, we found the same purse so I'm just waiting for her to give me the one she has now so I can return it!

Day 121:

It was Nanny's birthday!! So Happy Birthday Nanny!

Day 122:

I might be traveling home after work to see these kids. Nanny's coming over to have a cook-out for dinner, but since I have to work until 7, I might not be able to get there until 8ish. Hopefully, she'll stay!

I hope everyone has a great first day of AUGUST!
