DAYS 167 - 180

Day 167:

I made one of the most delicious dinners ever! I was wondering what to make for my roommate/family dinner night so my one of them suggested I search The Pioneer Woman's site. I've heard of her, but I've never made anything from her recipes. This one was so easy and delicious! I added some things in there (like broccoli) because I had some laying around and it only enhanced it. Now, if you are not a fan of lemon, then I don't advise you to make this. It has a very strong lemon taste, but if you do like lemon, then go for it! You will not be disappointed!

Day 168:

I don't think I've ever bought jeans from Target, but I was in need of some (or so i thought) and I decided to try them. I am now a huge fan! They are inexpensive and they feel like they'll hold up for a while so I thinking this was a bueno decision.

Day 169:

You can never have too many boots, which is why I am on the search for a pair of dark brown ones now. I added this pair to my collection and I pretty pumped to wear them as soon as it starts cooling off (which i hope is really soon).

Day 170:

Max decided to be our little doll for the night so I made him a bow out of toilet-paper. Yes, I know, I'm classy. The first five minutes of trying to put this on him were pretty amusing, but then he finally gave in and I got this wonderful shot.

Day 171:

Are you surprised? After doing these posts, I am now aware of where all of my money goes. On Sunday, I went shopping with Mom and got 5 shirts! I didn't spend to much (thankfully) and now I have some new clothing to show off!

Day 172:

I wasn't a big fan of a grade I got back on Monday, but hey, it doesn't really matter anymore because I'm dropping the class! It makes me kind of nervous to drop it since we're only allowed 4 the entire time we're at UGA, but I'm in my third year and I haven't dropped one yet so I think I'm good.

Day 173:

(i couldnt think of a picture)

So, the bad grade on Monday confirmed what I've been thinking about. I was a Consumer Journalism major focusing on Public Relations and Child and Family Development, but since I've been in the major classes, I've been more drawn to the CFD portion. I was wondering if I should drop the PR part and go straight CFD, but I didn't know if that was the right decision. After getting the grade, I knew that it was definitely the right thing to do so I changed. I can now say that I am a Child and Family Development major!

Day 174:

Cutest movie! This was so adorable! I love all of the characters and I really want a little minon to carry around with me.

Day 175:

Grey's Anatomy premiered!!And it was pretty good! I'm really glad Yang and Hunt got married and that Lexie and Alex broke up. FINALLY!

Day 176:

I didn't really do anything other than go to school and work so I'm skipping this day :)

Day 177:

(p.s. i kinda like these watches! they seem very popular. i just dont know if i could handle something that large on my wrist...)

Saturday was such a long day! I worked from 11 until 10 because one of the shifts didn't get covered, but it wasn't too bad. The day went by pretty quick and after work, Sara and I went to Kerry's birthday party...she's finally 20!! :) It was a very fun, but tiring day.

Day 178:

I'm out of my slump! YAY! We have a quota we have to meet at work for credit applications and after over 2 weeks of not getting any, I finally did! I'm so glad to be back.

Day 179:

The Romantics. Check it out. Read it. (ill do a review soon)

Day 180:

Here's the situation. Going home, I have to turn onto R Pkwy from R Rd. Pkwy is the road that has all of the apartment complexes on it so if you're turning left onto it from Rd, you have the right of way. I was turning right onto Pkwy from Rd; since there were no other cars around, I decided to yield at the stop sign and go ahead and turn without completely stopping. BIG MISTAKE. There was a cop sitting there on Pkwy and of course, I got stopped and had to pay a $125 ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign. That's a load of crap. Since there weren't any cars coming and I was turning right, I shouldn't have had to stop, but apparently what I think doesn't matter so I paid it. Now instead of buying something useful with that money, I had to pay the stupid police department. I'm not too happy as you can see.

DAY 159-166

Day 159:

Since I was home, I had to go pick up Levi from his little boarding vacation. He's always so excited to go home after he's been there!

Day 160:

For a class assignment, I had to watch a children's television program and read a children's book. Since I read Mary Poppins a while back, I decided to use that for the book and for the show, I watched The Fairly OddParents. I hadn't seen that show in a while, but it was still as entertaining now as it was when I was younger.

Day 161:

It was grocery day!! I decided to make some pasta salad that I could munch on for a while. Instead of making just enough to last me a few meals, I ended up making a ton. It filled up a very large container...I have a feeling I'll be throwing some of it away soon.

Day 162:

My pictures came! I ordered close to 700 pictures from SnapFish recently and they finally arrived! For some reason, I hadn't ordered pictures in over a year, so the result was a large package. I'm glad they're cheap though!

Day 163:

I made the tastiest breakfast needed to fuel my 10 hour shift. It consisted of a waffle sandwich with Nutella and strawberries in the middle. It was absolutely delicious!

Day 164:

As you can see from this post, the family and I traveled to Summerville for the family reunion which was a lot of fun!

Day 165:

It has been so much fun having Bella and Alexi living here!

Day 166:

Oh ya know, just Max watching some quality TV. The VMA's replayed so he insisted on watching them. Did anyone else think that Rihanna and Taylor Swift didn't perform that well? I think my favorite performer of the night was Usher. He can sing and dance and who doesn't love "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love"?!

PHOTO SHOOT WITH MAX

While I was trying to do a little craft project (more on that later) today, a playful move turned into a photo shoot.

This obviously wore him out.

P.S. As you may or may not have noticed, I'm trying a new thing with the 365 Picture Thing. What I'm going to try and do is post a week's worth of pictures on Sunday. This way, I don't feel obligated to post every day and it lets me post about other things that are going on throughout the week!

DAYS 17 AND 18

Day 17:

This is the first thing I saw when I walked in from school yesterday! He was just sitting in the crack of the couch looking around...so cute!

Day 18:

Today was the day I decided to find out what I have to make on my finals and assignments in order to get A's and B's. This year is not as bad as last year so, hopefully I'll have pretty high grades! Also, I have my Access Lab Practical this Friday, so I have to study 2 tutorials for that...boo

**Update: Since I finished Friends (the finale gets me every time, by the way), I decided (well Sara came up with the idea) to watch The Office! Sara and Kayla have watched all of the episodes and I just started last semester. Since I've watched some of them, I started this morning with Season 3 and it is definitely a good show to watch in the morning!

DAY 11

Tonight, we had another play date with Bella and Max. It went pretty good considering this is the second time they've been around each other!

Day 11:

I caught Bella in mid-action. She was more playful than Max, but he didn't really hiss at her that much tonight! Hopefully they'll become the best of friends soon :)

BLURBS 3

*Sunglasses. I love them, but then again, I really don't like wearing them. I see people walking around campus with them on and I've tried that, but I, for some reason, would prefer not to wear them. My main thing is that with sunglasses on, everything is dull. I like to see the bright colors and I really don't want tan lines around my eyes :)

*A few weekends ago, we watched Back to the Future, one of Kayla's favorite movies. It was pretty good! I had never seen it before so Kayla decided it was time for her to share her favorite with the roomies. Overall, it was funny and the only thing that really bothered me was Michael J. Fox's voice. His voice is just made for cartoons; you should be able to hear the voice, but not be able to see where it's coming from (that sounds really mean and i dont want it to, i just meant that his voice doesnt match him... :) ). Anyways, next movie to watch = Back to the Future 2!

*Sara, Kayla, and I also went to see Remember Me a while back and like Back to the Future, I liked it...a lot. I guess I have a thing about voices because, yet again, the main girl's voice kind of bothered me. I was later informed that she is Australian so she was trying to hide her accent, and in my opinion she didn't do that great of a job. When she had to yell something, I felt like she was talking super slow and her voice got super deep. Rob Pattinson, however, did a really good job. Some of his lines were pretty funny and he delivered them well. The other person that I really liked in the movie was Pierce Brosnan. He changed his accent to a thick New York one and you couldn't even tell that he's really Irish (well, in one part when he got angry, he lost his New York accent)! The storyline was interesting to me also even though it wasn't a major, dramatic story. One thing that I LOVED about the movie was the twist in the end. I did NOT see it coming at all and when I realized it, I was shocked! (I can also add this movie to the long list of movies that make me ball like a baby)

*So if you've read earlier posts, then you know that I am now a proud employee of Macy's! I'm first of all super excited that I found this job and second of all, I love it. In my department, I feel like I'm a personal shopper sometimes, which trust me, is not a bad thing at all. I didn't expect people to come in and ask me to help them find an outfit. I'm finally catching on to where all of the designers are and what they carry so this is slowly getting easier.

*Just recently, we found out that our roommate this year (the one that we didn't know coming into the apartment) is moving next year. Since we need another roommate, we asked a girl that Sara and Kayla know if she wanted to move in. In order for this all to work out, we had to set up play dates for her dog, Bella, and Kayla's cat, Max. The first one happened on Sunday and it was hilarious! Bella is HUGE and so playful while Max is small (not compared to other cats, I'm told) and he's playful only if he's not nervous. Well, imagine how nervous you would be if you had never seen a dog of that size try to play with you! She would get on the ground and try to play, but all Max did was sit on the chairs under the table and growl/hiss at Bella. Tonight, we're having the second play date so hopefully Max will remember who she is and they will be the best of friends!

*I know I've mentioned it before, but I get the most random songs in my head. Today while reading The Lovely Bones (which is weird, but in a good way) I started humming this song:

I just wish I knew why some of these songs that I don't even listen to get stuck in my head!

DAYS 8-10

So I'm not gonna lie. These pictures are not that interesting. Throughout the day, I never really think of taking a picture for my 365 Pictures thing, so I then end up taking one at night that is pretty boring. I promise I'll start thinking about it during the day and start taking more interesting pictures :)

Day 8:

Sunday, we stayed at the pool for a couple of hours. Then me and Sara went over to my brother's house and hung out over there until dinner time. We also had a little play date for Max and our potential future roommates dog (it went pretty good, were having another one tonight to see if they get along since theyve already hung out).

Day 9:

This is by far the most boring picture! Like I mentioned, I forgot to take on during the day and after doing school work then working, I remembered around 10. So this is my picture of my late night snack!

Day 10:

Yesterday, I had a ton of school work to do. It was such a pretty day outside, I didn't want to go back to the apartment and sit inside to study so I stayed on campus. So this is the spot where I sat for a very long time taking book notes and completing assignments!

I'm hoping for today's picture I'll get a cute one of Max and Bella tonight, if not then you'll be seeing another wonderful picture of dinner or something!

3.31.2010

SPEAKING OF BOOKS

This weekend, we went to Barnes and Noble to try and get some studying done and Sara just wanted to look around. While she was probably off in the cooking section, I spent FOREVER in the bargain book (my favorite section). I love how they have hardback books there for $5! And they aren't books that no one has heard of or that don't sound interesting, they have a ton of them that I was so tempted to buy. Although I just carry them around, contemplating whether I should buy them or not, and then eventually put them back, this time I actually bought a book! I bought The Condition by Jennifer Haigh for only $6! On the way out, I saw that there were even more books that had been marked down 70% on the end of one of the shelves. Of course, I had to explore and I found one that seemed mildly interesting: The Day the Falls Stood Still by Cathy Marie Buchanan. I absolutely had to buy this one because it was under $4. That's less than what you spend for shipping on a book from Amazon! (im a sucker for sales)

Anyway, here's a very cute picture of Max just laying around on the Barnes and Noble bag :)

THIS POST IS DEDICATED TO...

KAYLA!!

Dinner was delicious tonight. Thanks for cooking :)

I'm also very happy that you allow Max to live here. (for reasons shown during dinner and shown below)

MAX

This is quite possibly the cutest set of pictures that I have ever taken

just sitting by the window while aunt shelley does homework

showing aunt sara some love

two things he does daily: sleep and splash around in the toilet

Oh, Max.
