Alright, so instead of studying, I thought I would do another blog post. :)
1. I forgot to update when I finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so I'm doing it now. Overall, the book was really good (no I'm not getting tired of them yet Sara). There were a few things that I didn't really like about it though. Toward the end, JK kept revisiting certain events that I had already read about. It got very repetitive, but I struggled through, thanks to the SLC and comfy chairs. I thought I might take a break between this book and the rest of the HPs, but that didn't really go as planned so I'm on to the fifth one!
2. This weekend, I feel like I watched a TON of movies: Where the Wild Things Are, Pineapple Express, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.Where the Wild Things Are was a pretty good movie! I only paid $1 to see it, which may have biased what I thought about it, but overall, I thought the idea, setting, and direction of the movie were well done. The other movies were ones that I had already seen before, but since I just finished the first couple HPs, I wanted to catch up on the movies too. As for Pineapple Express, you can never watch that movie too many times.
3. I'm starting to regret having a blog now that tests are starting in classes. I have a FDNS test tomorrow and I have studied 6 of the 9 packets....go me! Hopefully, it won't be too bad. Instead of studying for the tests like I should be doing though, I'm on here writing a new post and trying to make the overall blog look awesome (I think it's coming along quite nicely actually). And I'm on here creeping other people...sorry. But I guess I'll know in the morning how much blogging really affects (or effects...I never know) my study habits.
4. Gotta end on an even number, can't have odds. I AM SO EXCITED THAT THERE'S GOING TO BE ANOTHER JERSEY SHORE!!!! I don't know why, but that show is awesome! It's so much fun to sit around and laugh for an entire hour over what the crazy "Italians" do. Just thought I'd share that little piece of uplifting information :)

FAVORITE ART
First of all, in case you didn't notice, I have a new link thing that goes to my goodreads.com profile. That site is so cool! It lets you create bookshelves of book that you've read, the books that you are currently reading, and books that you want to read in the future. I just thought I would share that :)
Also, on a side note, the new Lady Antebellum CD is awesome.
There are also some pieces of art that I have hung up in my room that I really love. I think my favorite is one that I bought at Kirklands; its by Jack Vetrianno, who has some really cool paintings. This one is one that I picked up and could not put down.
I couldn't really get a good picture because my room is too dark and I can't take a picture with the flash on without the light showing up. But, if you want to look it up it is called "The Singing Butler."
This next one is one that I found on Amazon.com for pretty cheap. It looks like a real picture, but it is actually a sketch of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. I love it! It is black and white except for the rose, which is a really unique touch.
Every year, UGA has a big poster sale that I can never seem to stay away from. This year, I bought three posters that are nice additions to my room. They're all foreign, but two are paintings and the third (top right) is a picture with Grace Kelly. I would love to put these in frames eventually, but for right now, they are just taped to my wall.
So that's all of the new art that I have in my room! :)

BOOKS AND DREAMS
Currently, I am working my way through the fourth book of the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. So far, it's pretty good! I really liked the first three, especially the third, so I have pretty high expectations. My roommate, Sara, got me into reading these books because she is a HUGE fan of them. I already owned the first four and I read them when they first came out, but I didn't really remember them. Now that I'm reading them again though, I'm starting to remember little pieces. Even though I want to read all of them without breaking them up, I'm kind of ready for a change so I might read a book between the fourth and fifth one. I have a ton of books that I've borrowed from my other roommate, Kayla, and my step-mom that I am anxious to read (I think that's why I'm ready for a change):
Dear John
The Last Song
The Princess Diaries Series
The Lovely Bones
I also just ordered some books from Amazon.com that I'm excited to read (The Devil Wears Prada and The Nanny Diaries).
I'll update when I'm done with Harry Potter and when I've made a decision about what book to read next soon!
Now about my dream. It was so strange and I'm actually really surprised that I even had a dream because I'm not used to dreaming when I only have 6 or 7 hours of sleep (thanks 8 AM classes). So in the dream, I was at my mom's work. Instead of it being her normal office, I walked in and right in front of me was a staircase that led to a large open area. In the area, my dad was dressed up in a suit and he was talking to my mom's boss. I nodded my head hello to him since I didn't want to interrupt them and I walked past the stairs. I walked down a hallway that led to the kitchen and if you kept walking through the kitchen, you would walk right by a Cadillac that was parked on the wrong side of a highway. So I spent some time talking to my mom in the kitchen and for some reason, I decided to go out to the car and look around. The car was very old and had old leather seats; on the seat there was an old leather notebook that belonged to my mom. I knew she told me not to look in the notebook because it had work stuff in it, but I thought I would since she was still inside. While I was looking through the notebook, a car pulled up beside me and made me panic so I drop the book on the floorboard of the car. A lady then came up to the passenger's side window and asked if I was broken down. I told her that I wasn't, in what I thought was a polite response, but for some reason she returned to her car after telling me I was rude and that I needed manners. This upset me so I went back inside to find that my mom had left, but my dad was still there. Somehow, a couple hours had passed, but my dad looked like he was still waiting for something. I went up to him to start a conversation and instead of talking about what he was doing there, I simply handed him The Time Traveler's Wife and apologized for not giving it to him before.
That was a very weird and random dream and I have no clue what the hidden meaning behind it is (if there even is one).
Now time to go read some more HP! :)

PAINTINGS :)
So I would have to say that painting is one of my favorite things to do and i encourage everyone to try it sometime :) I started painting last year and since then, I've done a few. I'm not talking about the whole "painting like Michelangelo," though, because I'm not that talented. I mainly like to do simple paintings that anyone can do if they really wanted to. My first painting was one of a tree. It sounds childish and random, but I like it and it now has a home in my bathroom!
I remember I did so many things wrong with this painting that I later learned from. Like first of all, you should ALWAYS paint the background first. Instead, I painted the tree and tried to cover the white with the blue sky. It was awkward. I also learned that you should paint the edges. I hung this one up and realized how strange it looked with the white edges.
My next painting that I did it one that I think most people like (that is why it is hanging in the living room :) ). I started out making something different but then I messed it up and had to paint the whole canvas black, including the edges this time! The thought then came to me to paint something that resembled leaves and I think the end product looks pretty good.
The next painting I did is my favorite. I kind of got the idea of the face from an eye drop commercial, but I personally like my version of it better :) Like the other, I messed up with this one. I tried to free hand the yellow on the top and bottom which didn't look right. I then tried to correct it with tape, but I made the borders too big. So I had to paint the whole thing over with the blue that is on the background and then start over with the borders and the face. This is now a proud resident in my bedroom!
This last painting is one that I did the other day because Hobby Lobby was having a sale on canvases (that store, by the way, is the best place to buy basically everything decorative). I wanted to make the color fade, and then do something with an outline. I, yet again, screwed up with the painting. I found a picture of an old fashioned phone online and sketched it. I then decided to sketch it onto the canvas before I painted it. I sketched it too dark and made a mistake which made me have to paint over it and make the fading different. I still like the background color the best, but I'm not too crazy about the phone. The base of the phone bothers me because the circle in the middle, but the painting overall still looks decent.
Okay well that's all of the paintings that I have done now! I'm in the middle of another one that I hope will look AWESOME, but I'll do a post about it when I finish :) (hopefully I won't mess this one up)

NEWBIE
This is the first post I have ever done as a blogger so I'm pretty excited about it. I was told I should do an art blog obviously about art so I thought I'd give it a try. Within art, the aspect that I find the most interesting is painting. Before I did that though, I started sketching Disney characters:
That is a part of the first Disney sketches that I did (the rest aren't very good and I have always favored the Beast). I also didn't have the sense to draw on computer or sketch paper so these are some of the other sketches I have done:
I've also drawn things for my roommates :) I drew the "Mad Hatter" from Alice in Wonderland because her cat reminds me of him with the hair and I drew Mickey Mouse for my other roommate because she loves Disney things:
That's all of the sketches that I have done so for my next entry I'll post some of the painting that I have done!
